This practice-oriented workshop covers general information about teaching receptive skills in English classrooms adaptable for all different levels.
We will focus on:
- establishing what makes for a good reading task
- a lead-in task and pre-teaching vocabulary
- a first reading task (reading for gist)
- a second reading task (reading for specific information)
- a post-reading task
- considering the staging for a receptive skills task
- looking at how we might develop students’ confidence/interest in listening tasks.
